We are pleased to announce that a number of events within the 17th World Sanskrit Conference will be open to the general public. PUBLIC LECTURE ON YOGA by JAMES MALLINSON

James Mallinson (SOAS, London)

“Yoga: To Mortify or Cultivate the Body?”

INDIAN SUMMER FESTIVAL

To enhance the public dimensions of the 17th World Sanskrit Conference, we are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Indian Summer Festival, a vibrant and pathbreaking contemporary multi-arts festival taking place in Vancouver at the same time as the WSC (July 5-14, 2018).

From novelists to Grammy Award-winning musicians, international visionaries to oral storytellers, Indian Summer Festival has presented emerging artists as well as Nobel, Booker, Grammy and Oscar prize nominees on its stages. ISF will be helping us promote our public events to reach Vancouver-area general audiences, and similarly, we strongly encourage conference-goers to visit ISF events in the evenings and weekends.

The theme for the 2018 ISF will be "Mythmaking," and provides a timely and fascinating intersection with WSC2018. We will provide exclusive information on ISF events here on our website so that you can plan accordingly.
