REGISTRATION PORTAL

Online Registration for WSC2018 is now CLOSED. However, if you still need to buy a meal plan or book an excursion, you can still do so for a limited time only! Please visit HERE and LOGIN using the credentials you had earlier used to register. You will then be able to edit your order, and add or remove items like excursions and meal plans.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

We regret that our Conference Block is now closed, and rooms are no longer available at the conference rate. If you still need to book a room, please check with UBC Accommodation HERE. Or click HERE to visit our preferred travel partners, Clickontours.com. They are based in Vancouver with an agent in Mumbai, and can work with you to find affordable places to stay in the area. They can also help with airport transfers, ground transport, post-conference tourist packages, and a wide variety of other services.

The World Sanskrit Conference is the premier international forum for professional researchers and educators of the Sanskrit language and its literatures, and of the history, religion, and cultures of premodern South Asia. It is convened every three years under the auspices of the International Association of Sanskrit Studies. The 17th WSC will be held in Vancouver, Canada from July 9-13. 2018. This will mark the first time that this prestigious triennial event is held in Canada.

WSC 2018 is proudly hosted by the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia, and it will be our pleasure to welcome you this summer to our idyllic campus in the beautiful, vibrant city of Vancouver, which is consistently rated as a top tourist destination in North America and one of the world’s most liveable cities. UBC ranks in the top three research universities in Canada and has taught Sanskrit at all levels since 1969.

The 17th World Sanskrit Conference will take place on the unceded Coast Salish territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nation.
